Wolves Wellness Wednesday - Meet our Nurse Practitioner

Meet our Wolves Wellness Clinician: Dena Richter, NP-1992 Graduate of Glen Este High School

Favorite memory as a Trojan? –“I would say my favorite memory as a Trojan would be meeting my husband, who is also a Glen Este graduate.”

Professional interests? --“Professional interests include adolescent health, education of patients and preventive care. Adolescence is such a changing time in a persons life that can be difficult for some. I feel this is the time for health care providers to talk to and educate their patients in this age group. They need physical, mental and emotional support through this changing time in their life. I enjoy educating patients, when people understand why something is happening, they are more likely to be compliant with their plan of care. Preventive care is a very important to me, if we can prevent illness and diseases, we keep the community healthy.

I am also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the Ohio Association of Advance Practice Nurses (OAAPN)”

Personal interests? –“Traveling, my husband and I love to travel and since becoming empty nester's we have been making time to see new places. Going to school is something I enjoy. I seem to always find a reason to further my education and am looking into returning to school again for another post masters and/or getting my DNP. Love Broadway, I have season tickets to the Aronoff so I can see the shows that come to Cincinnati.”

“SBH is important to communities due to the convenience of care. This helps decrease absenteeism and tardiness for the students and their parents. I am excited to return to my high school as a nurse practitioner and give back to the West Clermont community.”
